Whats good bedroom styles for teenagers?

Q. well im 12 and my family and i are moving to our new house.. and my mum said i could pick the style of my room and colour and stuff... im not really into.. like..posters of justin bieber on my wall... justy something pretty and i like the colour light blue... just something pretty.. could u maybe send some pictures of bedrooms.. thanks

Answer
First consider updating the furniture. A full or queen bed is more appropriate for a grown girl than a twin. Itâs a sign not just that sheâs physically taller but also that sheâs reaching adulthood. Your teenâs own style should dictate the style. From a sleek platform bed to a swooping four-poster with a canopy, thereâs furniture out there to please everyone. Make sure your teen has space to study. As she gets older, this will become more and more important. If you have the space, set up your child with a desk and computer and a bookcase. A cloth covered corkboard is both stylish and functional.

Scene/Emo bedroom ideas?

Q. Ok, I am redecorating my room. I hate to use those two terms but gothic doesn't match what I'm looking for. Here is an idea of what my room currently looks like

-Its a small squared room
-I have a darkish wooden dresser
-I have a darkish wooden bookcase
-I have white walls (allowed to paint)
-I have a queen darkish wooden bed with black railings
-White nightstand

and this is what I need

-a bedding set
-colors for my wall
-wall decorations
-any other decorations
-lighting
-night stand

please and thank you!

What color should my comforter and bedroom accessories be?

Jess

My bedroom walls are "the hulk" green (hand-me-down room from my brother) and my bed frame is white. I bought two small pink pillows and i don't know what color to buy my comforter or book shelf in. the room is a little tight on space, especially with the size of my bed. i don't want more white furniture and i don't want to overdo it with color. what colors do you suggest? :)

Answer
Chocolate and pink comforter is perfect for your room,
purple/lavender also coordinates with green and pink.

More tips for a fire-themed bedroom?

Just

All right, so I asked this question a couple days ago and it got pretty overlooked. So here's a second try.

I was looking into making a fire-themed bedroom. I figured painting my walls red, painting my trim a yellow or blue (to represent the other colours of fire), paint my doors orange, and that's all well and good, but I was looking for any furniture ideas.

I have all the colours down, but I guess what I mean is styles. Like, for a water-themed bedroom, I guess you could get a boat-shaped bookcase or a lighthouse lamp. But do you guys have any ideas for fire?

Also--if you could send me any links to a good bedspreads, that'd be great. While fire is the *main* theme, I wouldn't mind dragons as well. So any ideas for a fire/dragon themed bedroom would be fantastic. Thanks!

Answer
Hi - your theme is very unusual, but I can just see it and it could look wonderful - it is great to have something really different and I always say go for it and let your imagination run wild - so enjoy getting your theme together. I will try to help you and hope you might like something that I suggest?

Bear in mind though that we are only allowed to put on 10 links per answer, so will try to keep in this 'guide-line'

Your bedding - have a look at these dragon styles:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/7pcs-Black-Gold-Red-Palace-Dragon-Jacquard-Comforter-Set-Bed-in-a-bag-Queen-Size-/370857429069 - I think this one is very rich and would go with your red, yellow walls of fire and its a great price for a 7-piece set at $59.99 :)

A couple of these Dragon Iron Wall Sconces would look really nice on the wall where you bed goes and put one either side of your bed:

http://www.designtoscano.com/product/dragon+and+gargoyle/dragon+wall+decor/castle+dragon+iron+wall+sconce+-+sp803.do?sortby=bestSellers&page=2

I would purchase, if you don't have any black furniture for your bedroom i.e. black chest of drawers, black table/desk and perhaps a bedside table and a bright red chair. You could purchase the black furniture from Ikea:

http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/categories/departments/bedroom/10451/

The other thing I was thinking of is - the furniture is not that expensive and why not paint it - if you're good at art and put either or both - flames or a dragon on the pieces you buy - on the black furniture it would look nice perhaps to use these stencils if you cannot draw and paint them in red and white - have a look at these?

http://www.stencil-library.com/search.html?q=dragon

If you have white furniture you could paint them black and red!

Or, you could paint flames on your furniture or again, if you can't paint use stencils - here are some free downloadable stencils of flames.

http://all-free-download.com/free-vector/free-downloadable-flame-stencils.html

The red chair I spoke about above - I thought would look nice for the desk and go with your theme. Have a look at these:

Chair: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/search/?query=red+chairs

and if you have room - your could perhaps buy a nice relaxing chair like this one and put a flame or dragon cushion on it?

Cushions: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80100878/

http://www.dhgate.com/product/handmade-cushion-covers-18-inch-high-end/141580501.html

http://www.cafepress.co.uk/+dragon+pillows?utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=dragon-pillow&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=entertainment-small-items---us&utm_content=search-b

http://www.zazzle.co.uk/hokusai_dragon_fantasy_art_throw_pillow-189676396545066139

Anyway, I hope you thoroughly enjoy designing this theme - I can imagine it will look really great - good luck :)

I bought a bed comforter with lime green, purple, dark blue, and turquoise retro looking squares on it. THen I painted the walls of my room to match it, one wall dark purple, one wall light purple, two walls turquoise. Now I am geting sick of the design on the comforter and want to know which colors would go well with my walls? Also I have a white bookcase and a white dresser.

Essentially I have a 3 br town home. The bedrooms are quite small. I have one bedroom setup as a master (my wife and I) with a full BR set (Queen, dressor, mirror, nightstand and chest) and the 2nd bedroom setup as my daughters room (it's the smallest). I have another bedroom that is kind of inbetween the sizes of the largest room and my daughters room. I'm not quite sure as to what that room should be used for. My study is in the basement (computer desk etc...). My wife wants it for a guest room. But she wants to put another small BR set in there. I don't feel comfortable with a bed in each room. I kind of want to do a study/br/activity room. Kind of like a sleeper sofa on the longest wall with bookcases all around and a small computer workstation in there. Kind of like a multi-purpose room. What is the 3rd and no use room commonly used for?

Answer
Are you happy with your office in the basement? If not, I'd turn the 3rd room into a study. You could always put a fold out sofa in there, so it could be used for guests when they come too, as an extra bed. But when you don't have guests you could actually USE the room. You could then use the basement for a gameroom or an awesome media room if you do that...
