Monster Br
It seems to me that the 60s revolution was about getting big brother our of our lives, free love and brotherhood so why do these same liberal types now push for govt solutions to every problem? Why do libs say the govt has no right to pass laws about gay sex but then want the govt to recognize gay marriage? Why does the gay community want the govt our of their bedroom then demand the govt fund aids cure research? Which is it? Stay out of our lives or interfere when they screw up?
Libs want privacy rights when it comes to a women and her dr and abortion but then they want the govt to provide health care/ health insurance where their personal records would be centralized and boards would be set up to look at their medical histories to determine if they get the care or not? Is this not a violation of privacy between a Dr and a Patient also?
Libs constantly complained about Haliburten and Cheney and the no bid contracts under Bush but said nothing when Clinton used them. Libs complain about big corporations and corporate welfare but where is the outrage over GM and Chrysler or is that different because of the unions and the union campaign contributions? Why would the unions support a party dedicated to "fixing" global warming by making the economic environment unfriendly and costly which will encourage most manufacturing companies to move off shore?
Libs complain we import too much oil yet do not want to drill here, off shore or in Anwar? Which is it? Drill and use our own resources or keep importing? Which will create more jobs?
Libs are convinced CO2 is a pollutant but yet merely breathing causes pollution by their definition so should we tax breathing to stop global warming?
Libs keep telling cons that we do not know the Definition of Socialism and Communism but do they even know that the tenants of Rules for Radicals and the Communist Manifesto is the guide to their playbook? Are they aware that in order to gain power they have to divide the masses into race, sex, sexual preference, income, wealth and creed? Do libs even understand the Constitution or simply ignore the parts they do not like?
EZEK..: Why not cut out all social spending and let the states decide if they want to and lets allow the free market to see if green energy is vialble. Until it is cheap and plentiful we need to drill now, drill here and build nukes. Libs always say that Europe does this (Health Care) and Europe does that well Spain did the whole green thing and failed big time. Frances uses Nuke Power for 75% of their power needs so lets do what they do, not that I think we should model ourselves after France but they do the cheap clean energy thing correctly.

Does anyone know the title of a US film from the late '60s about a young boy who travels into a fantasy world?
jono_uk200
It starts off with some kind of magical box (?) which sails through the boy's bedroom window and opens up - the boy then travels into a fantasy land in some kind of small car. I think it this part was animated with him appearing as live action. I think it was also set in San Francisco and probably dates to 1969 time. Have tried searching with key words on the web but no luck so wonder if someone can jog my memory re the title as would like to see it again :-)

...frightfilmfan, to the rescue!!!
The film you so desperately seek, is none other than "The Phantom Tollbooth"; it was based upon a children's novel by Norton Juster, and transformed into a part live-action/part cartoon feature film in 1970. The film was directed by Mel Blanc, the master voice behind the classic Bugs Bunny & Road Runner cartoons. Regrettably, it has not been released on DVD yet, and the VHS tape has been long out of print (Sniff!!!)
...and so, 'frightfilmfan' disappears into the night, as quickly as he came, having triumphed once again!!!
