Q. I need to decorate my room and i know exactly how i want it but dont know where to get cheap stuff. my budget is 300 dollars i dont need a bed or a side table . I want my bedroom to be zebra print and hot pink , i want to have some seating for it too but like classy modern . I need cool things to put on my wall , and a comforter set , a lamp , a nice pretty chair which matches , a cute faux fur rug , a throw blanket and lots of pillows to put on the ground and my bed , i also want some cute things to put around my room , a vase and a hot pink wall , i want to have some storage too but not make it stand out ! my mother bought me a bedroom set when i was living with her. i said i could deal with the set she had but she wanted me to have something so that when i get my own apartment i can have it for life. i decided to move out of my mother house some time ago. she let me borrow a tv that she would like back. i have told her the bedset for the tv and she will not give me the bedset because she claims she paid for it therefore it is hers. i have watched some judge shows and they say if its a gift its mine is that correct. she claims she will call the police what will they say to her?

.....Dear Sara O, unless you've got some written proof that that bedroom set is yours or have a witness who heard her say that it was a gift to you then you really don't have a leg to stand on from a legal standpoint. I've watched enough of those legal shows as well. She bought it. It's in her name. :-)

Where can we buy a new Bedroom set?

It really depends on where you live. Here in Wisconsin, the place to go is Furniture Deals & Steals, with one in Madison, one near La Crosse, and one in Baraboo (that I'm aware of). I've seen another place, advertised on TV, called Jennifer Convertibles, that seemed to have some sensible prices on couches...so maybe they'd have good prices on bedroom sets. You'll just have to look around your area and make some calls, and also on the internet too. There are lots of independent furniture stores to check out. And sometimes you can get a really good deal at some second-hand places, or even an estate auction. Then there's the random hotel auctions, which you can often get a really decent set of furniture at a good price. I'm not fooled by name brands though. My daughter used to work at Ashley Furniture, and she saw how it was really made. Cheap junk. And I bought an Englander king sized mattress 5 years ago, that came with a 15 year warranty, and it's in need of a new mattress (sagging) already. Make sure you and another person lays on the mattress for several minutes before buying it, to check for comfort and workmanship. Even if you do all the right things, there's still no guarantee you'll get something that will last longer than a few years, depending on how hard you are on your furniture. What color should I paint my bedroom wall?

I have a light cherry bedroom set. The comforter has a garnet base with golds and darker reds. I have wood floors. And my wall decor is mostly reds and golds as well. Right now I have a marigold yellow color but I'm starting to realize that was the wrong choice! What would better suit this room and make it more calmer?

My style is traditional. I want a medium cherry. I like panel beds, not sleigh beds. But most panel beds are boring... need something with a little bit of curve on sides, not just a big box look.
