Currently in Phoenix the days are mid-60s and nights can be mid-40s. Right now at 11:30pm it is 55 degrees outside... (Sorry to all of you in sub-zero degrees right now!)
The news advises lowering your thermostat a few degrees to save money in the winter. But, I'm not sure what that should be. I have a 2-bedroom manufactured home, not very good insulation in the walls. During the day I can go with the heater completely off, but what should I set it for at night?
Answer
Set the thermostat at a temperature that you would be comfortable at..
If during the day outside it's mid sixties, and you are comfortable, then set the thermostat for 65, then lower it 2 degrees at a time, (over the next few days) until you are cold at night, raise it 2 degrees, and that is your ideal temp....
If the original 65 is too cold at night, then go up 2 degrees at a time

In Chandler, we have a nice thrift store. The St. Vincent De Paul store always has big screen TV's, bedroom sets, living room sets, dining sets ,etc. The prices are a little higher than your average thrift store , but the quality of the items is very good.
