Answer
Here are some things you might like. Don't know how old you are so I hope these suit you. Buy your bedding first and don't paint the stripe until you've gotten everything else for the room...you may or may not need it then. Don't be afraid to mix up patterns...a stripe on the curtains and some floral pillows, as long as the colors work together. Adding some white or cream would look good too.

how do i attach my headboard to the mattress frame?

Freckledmo
We purchased a queen size bedroom set 8 yrs ago from Levitz and have NEVER had it properly assembled! We've just kind of leaned it against the wall and put pillows behind it so it wouldn't mar the wall. However, I was motivated to try it and I have NO IDEA how to do it. Don't have any instructions. It seems to have the correct pieces but they don't seem to be lining up. Help please?!!!
Answer
If they were purchased together they should line up. The mattress frame has two steel flanges that stick out - one on each side. They should line up with the legs of the headboard and the holes are usually elongated to allow adjustment. If the holes in the headboard legs go all the way through then you'll need 3 or 4 inch threaded bolts with flat washers and lock washers. If the headboard leg holes are drilled for wood screws, drill them all the way through and use the bolts because as one of your contributors mentioned the wood screws eventually pull out.
