Is polygamy really legal and government subsidized in Canada?
Q. From: http://www.billionbibles.org/sharia/canada-sharia-law.html
"The provincial governments of Canada for years have tacitly recognized Sharia law for Canada's Muslim minority by sending multiple welfare checks to polygamous Muslim men who raise multiple families in Canada."
What is that about? It's not illegal there? Can we ship off our Utah mormons to Toronto too?
This is also very interesting: "Taqiyya is lying to advance Islam and/or to prevent harm to Muslims. When Christians confront Muslims regarding the truths that are inconvenient to Muslims, Muslims often lie, even on record and in front of other Muslims, who do not appear surprised since they also know about taqiyya...."

Polygamy is a criminal offense as specified in the Canadian Criminal Code (section 293). It is punishable as an indictable offense by up to five years in prison. The criminal code is federal and individual provinces have no jurisdiction nor anyway to direct police forces not to upload such laws.
Laws have been used against Mormon and other Christian sects -- in various provinces. Prosecutions are rare simply because it is a hard crime to detect, prove, and obtain convictions on. It is also extremely rare relatively few people practice it. Police aren't in people's bedrooms, there is typically no victim bringing forward a complaint, and those committing the crime in Canada normally go through great lengths to hide their crime. Police and governments typically have no way of knowing that someone isn't an aunt, family friend, someone renting a room, etc. Most arrests tend to stem from related crimes -- tax frauds, underage marriages, welfare frauds, immigration violations, etc.
The provincial governments aren't "tacitly recognizing" Sharia law. They are merely the victims of welfare fraud. They have no way of knowing that two women in the same household are married to the same man. There is no law against two women at the same address applying for social assistance. Neither computer systems nor case workers are specifically looking for multiple women at the same address applying for social assistance as any specific indication of a crime -- nor are most government systems set up to detect crimes outside their immediate scope. They would be investigating hundreds of thousands of sisters, room mates, cousins, friends, etc.
There have been a number of recent high profile cases in which Muslim immigrants have been involved with other crimes and polygamy has surfaced. Citizenship and Immigration Canada has taken a lot of extra steps to try detect and crack down on this. However, again, its a hard crime to detect, especially considering the difficulty in obtaining legitimate records and running background checks in most Muslim countries. Those found lying on immigration application do have their permanent residency applications tossed.
