Q.

Answer
Insomnia may be caused by a variety of things. There are three main areas that insomnia causes may be grouped into. These are psychological problems, social problems and medical problems.

Psychological Problems
Insomnia may be the result of depression, stress or some other psychological reason. Many people who suffer from psychological disorders also suffer from sleep disruption. If your insomnia follows a traumatic experience such as a car accident, an assault or a robbery, the trauma of the event may be contributing to your lack of sleep.

Social Problems
A tense work environment or a problematic marriage may cause insomnia that falls into the Social Problems category. The frustrations and irritability confronted throughout the day may be replayed in your mind when you try to lie down to go sleep. This may cause you to be unable to sleep, simply tossing and turning for hours.

Medical Problems
A large assortment of medical reasons may cause insomnia. Being in pain or worrying about your illness may keep you from sleeping. Or the medications you take for your illness may cause you to stay awake.

There are three stages of insomnia:

1- TRANSIENT INSOMMIA.
2- CHRONIC INSOMMIA.
3- INTERMITTENT INSOMMIA.

Transient insomnia is also known as short term insomnia, intermittent insomnia is also called on and off and chronic insomnia is called constant. Insomnia lasting from a single night to a few weeks is referred to as transient. If an episode of transient insomnia occurs from time to time it is said to be transient. Insomnia is considered to be chronic if it occurs on most night and lasts for a month or more.

People more likely to experience insomnia are those in advanced years, those of the female gender, and those with a history of depression.

Transient insomnia occurs in people who are temporarily experiencing 1 or more of these conditions: stress, noise, hot or cold temperature changes, jet lag and side effects from medications.

Chronic insomnia is mainly due to depression, misuse of caffeine and alcohol or shift work.

Insomnia is found in both male and female. But in females in the menopause years it is most common.

Insomnia is diagnosed with a medical history and a sleeping log. A sleeping can be done through journal entries, telling the time you went to bed and the number of times you awaken during the night.

Insomnia is treated differently depending on the stage. Transient and intermittent may not require treatment. Chronic is different. The reason it is different is because the underlying cause must first be found.

The following are a few handy tips to avoid Insomnia:

1) Don't go to bed until you feel exhausted & sleepy.

2) Don't use the bed for anything else but sleeping i.e. no eating or watching TV.

3) If you don't fall asleep within 15 minutes get up and do something else.

4) Don't take naps during the day.

5) Avoids alcohol and caffeine before bed.

If you want to eradicate this problem simply follow the tips for getting some proper sleep, which will ensure you stay healthy for a long time. Change your living style, try making some changes in your bedroom surroundings/setup, it may help you feel relaxed and eventually fall asleep.

what kind of computer speakers will work well with my hdtv?

my hdtv is for the bedroom so the size is a 19"

Answer
For the past 5 years I have owned the same set of Logitech 2.1 Z-2200 speakers. They have served me well in college and the large subwoofer made for an excellent footrest. However, they are typical âcomputer speakersâ in the sense that they donât accurately reproduce each frequency and provide too much bass, even with the subwoofer on the lowest setting. I guess you could say Iâve evolved into an audiophile and have realized that bass isnât everything. I like to hear crisp highs and punchy mids as well. That has led me to connect the Logitechâs to my HDTV for the time being, and upgrade my computer setup with studio monitors

Studio monitors are often sold individually so you usually just buy two, hook them up to your favorite amplifier, pre-amplifier and audio source, and youâre good to go. That ends up being pretty expensive so I started searching for active/powered studio monitors so I wouldnât have to deal with having to setup a big amplifier. I remembered hearing my friend Eston Bondâs Rokit RP5G1s when visiting Palo Alto over the summer and was thoroughly impressed with the clarity and range they produced.

Since then the KRK Rokit RP5s have been upgraded to their second generation and sport a slightly different style, but offer the same stellar performance. Each monitor runs $150, so thatâs $300 for the pair not including shipping (UPS claims the box was 37lbs). For that price, they are still considered entry level for studio monitors. The 5 in RP5G2 stands for 5-inches - the diameter of the main woofer. KRK also makes versions of these monitors with 6 and 8 inch woofers but they are too big to even consider using on your desk.

Good Points: -Superb Subwoofer -Price -Compact -Loud and hits hard when you want it but not when you don't want it to

Bad Points: Must be annoying for people hearing the bass (not listening to whatever music you listen to) although the bass control works well enough to cut most of the sub off.

General comments: I got my Logitech Z-2200 THX for 150 bucks and it has been the best investment for my computer thus far. I live in a dorm and I blow the water out of whatever else is blasting in here. The subwoofer's sound quality is superb, for such a compact system I have heard nothing else that can match the sound of this system for the dirt cheap price (as far as I'm concerned). I'd recommend them to anyone but I wouldn't look foward to living anywhere near them if they use it to it's full ablities, as I'm sure the people in the room below me would attest to. haha
